Do you desire to make a difference in the life of an abused or neglected child? Court Appointed Special Advocates, (CASA), is a nonprofit organization that trains volunteers to advocate for abused, neglected and abandoned foster children in the court system. Our local CASA will train volunteers who can make an investment in the life of a child, and find an indescribable benefit in their own lives.
With over 6000 children in dependency court proceedings each year in Riverside County, CASA has an urgent waiting list of 300 cases waiting for your attention.
Volunteers do not need previous court experience but background checks are required. Training is required and provided at no cost. Volunteers typically spend 15-20 hours a month on their cases and make a commitment of 18-24 months when taking a case.
Countywide training is scheduled for the four Saturdays in February, from 9am-5pm in Moreno Valley.
